Quick Trip....

I hope this is not becoming a pattern, but I'll be on island in a week, another scouting trip for property. First time on island in August, looking at a place in Los Chivos, our old fav.  Property we're looking at is wrought with problems, as has been the case with everything thus far. There is, although, the promise of great views and great breezes and that is enough for us to "keep the faith." Fingers crossed...should be on island some time late afternoon on the 4th of August, just a little over a week.

  1. I hope it goes well Curt. I hear that their is water rationing at the moment, not just on VQS but in many places on the Big Island too, so be ready for the military shower to rinse off all that salt water!

    1. Well, if it ever does come together, we'll have you guys down and watch the sunset over cocktails and cool tradewinds.

    2. How did it go? we made a offer on a house in Los Chivos that had two pit bulls living there. Offer was excepted but a law suit killed the deal. Something we have learned while on our house search there is, if a house was built before 1975 it was built with sea sand in the cement (Salt) that rust the rebar and causes lots of problems with the roof and walls. Just a heads up.

    3. John I'm curious why the lawsuit killed the deal?

    4. The land owner next door claimed that there was a encroachment onto his land. The lawsuit would take six months or more to get worked out. We withdrew our offer until it gets settled. Did you look at the same house?

    5. Yes, it was that house that I flew down to check out.

    6. We loved it but the lawsuit and the age because of the sand deal killed it for us. We did wish we could keep the dogs Steph had to go by every day to see them last time we were down. We hope it works out for you.
